Inuuteq Storch: Swing by 14:14

We are thrilled to announce the opening of Inuuteq Storch's solo exhibition Swing by 14:14 on Friday, August 21, from 5-9 PM.

The exhibition marks Storch’s first-ever gallery exhibition – a rare occasion for an artist whose work has, over the past few years, been exhibited at major institutions including MoMA PS1, Hasselblad Foundation and KUNSTEN, and acquired by collections such as MoMA and Tate Modern.

For the opening, we have the pleasure of welcoming two of Kalaallit Nunaat’s most exciting musicians, Tarrak and Andachan, along with a special guest who will join us in celebrating the occasion. Find the full programme for the opening below.

For the exhibition, Storch presents two new photographic series, Swing by 14:14 and Flesh, developed through journeys to Tasiilaq in East Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) and New York City. Together, the works reflect a photographic practice shaped by movement between cultural landscapes that feel simultaneously familiar and unfamiliar. Whether photographing vast Arctic landscapes or the intensity of New York’s streets, Storch approaches both with the same quiet curiosity, allowing people, places, and everyday moments to exist side by side without hierarchy. While the series Swing by 14:14 emerged from Storch’s encounter with the overwhelming landscapes and enduring Inuit traditions of Eastern Kalaallit Nunaat, Flesh captures the restless rhythm of New York through intimate snapshots of friends, bodies, and nightlife. Together, the two series offer a portrait of contemporary Kalaallit Nunaat that is neither myth nor backdrop, but a living culture shaped by local traditions, global influences, and lived experience.
