Hannah Toticki: Hard Water Soft Pipes at Møstings

9 January - 15 March 2026
About

For HARD WATER SOFT PIPES at Møstings, visual artist Hannah Toticki engages with water as a fundamental condition for all life on Earth and as a resource we share, yet rarely see. Toticki fills the Kunsthalle with large-scale, immersive installations in which materials such as pipes and glass make visible the circulation of water and the infrastructures that sustain it. Visitors move through the Møsting's spaces, where the pathways of water emerge as both a physical and poetic presence. The installations draw connections between what flows hidden beneath the city and the water we encounter in everyday life — from the tap, within our bodies, and in the nature around us. The familiar becomes strange, and the invisible takes on form. The exhibition revolves around the myth of the Naiads, the freshwater nymphs of Greek mythology, which appear in new interpretations in Toticki’s works. Mythological ideas of nature’s vital force are interwoven with contemporary technical systems, raising questions of community, responsibility, and our dependence on water as a vulnerable resource. HARD WATER SOFT PIPES is a sensorial exhibition of contemporary art in which photography and installation come together to create a unified experience of water’s presence and movement.
